The San Francisco Seagulls (16-15) summer collegiate baseball club upended the nationally ranked Palm Springs Power (32-4) by a score of 5-2 on Friday. Led by a complete game six hitter from Zach Bell (William Penn U), the Gulls scored a single run in the third and fourth innings and two runs in the seventh to make the score 4-2. They extended the lead with a single run in the ninth inning before Bell (6-2) would close the door on the Power’s 20-game win streak.
Tyler Helms (Ohlone JC) finished the day 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a game leading RBI double in the seventh inning. Eren Miravalles (Canada JC) had three knocks and a stolen base in the win.
