After sweeping an opening day double header from the Oakland Expos, the San Francisco Seagulls (3-0) stayed hot in an 8-3 victory over the visiting Stockton Glory.

With the name of the game being pitching, six Seagulls pitchers combined to one-hit the Glory in masterful action. After starting pitching Matt Maggiolo (Hawaii Pacific) fought through poor defense which led to two unearned run, reliever Kyle Pfieffer (San Francisco State) dominated the Glory over the next three innings. Pfeiffer used a fastball and curveball to strike out six of the nine batters he faced while recording his first win of the young season.

The Seagulls carried a no-hitter into the 8th inning before a solo home run with two-outs ended their chances of throwing the first no-hitter in franchise history.

Overall the Seagulls improve to 3-0 on the young season. Next up, the Seagulls travel to Atwater, CA to play a three game series against the Atwater Aviators. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM on Saturday, June 6th, 2009.
